Alvarez Farm and Vineyard is a California wine estate producing Rhone and Iberian Spanish varietals. With elevations reaching 1,850 feet, this pristine vineyard features some of the most breathtaking panoramic views, from rugged mountain ranges to the Pacific Ocean, from nearly every angle of the estate. The 100 acre estate includes plantings of Mourvèdre, Tempranillo, Grenache, Albariño, Picardan, Loureiro, Macabeo, Carignan and Arinto. The wines will feature unique blends and rich mono-varietals. Artisinal hand crafted wines will echo the success of warmer regions such as the Cote du Rhone and various regions of Spain while expressing the unique style of Southern California.

In addition to its world class wine, the prestigious vineyard hosts a variety of events from one-of-a-kind photoshoots to corporate retreats to large scale weddings. This exclusive hilltop vineyard has dedicated parking, state-of-the-art performance stage area, and an event space that can easily host large events up to 500 guests. Alvarez Farm and Vineyard’s 100 acre estate is in pristine condition and provides panoramic views of the rugged mountains to the San Diego Coast line for the perfect location to host your photoshoot or film production. Capture the San Diego Mountains, Valleys and Coastline with lush grape vines, 30 foot boulders as your scenic backdrop. The vineyard has several dedicated electrical sub-panels and 5 artesian wells throughout the estate to power everything you can imagine and have fresh water lines. Dedicated power and artesian well water lines for RV/trailer parking locations provide your crew and client 5 star accommodations while enjoying the production. The Vineyard has a licensed helicopter pad for dramatic entrances and provides a convenient method of arrival for our most distinguished guests.  Conveniently located 30 minutes from San Diego’s Coastline. FAQs

HOW DO I BOOK MY WEDDING OR EVENT AT ALVAREZ VINEYARDS?

We require you setup a tour with a in order to view the venue and go over what you want at your wedding or event. After viewing the venue, you may request a contract and pay the deposit to hold on the date you are interested in. There is another portion due 14 days from the event to continue to hold the date for your event and the remainder is due the day before your event.  Any overages or other arrangements are due after the event once calculated.

IS WEDDING OR EVENT COORDINATION INCLUDED?

It is not included in your venue fee, but there are so many amazing wedding coordinators in our area, and we are happy to refer someone to you! Our venue manager is responsible for all venue duties and works with your coordinator or planner to make sure you have a successful wedding or event.

CAN I HAVE A LIVE BAND DURING MY WEDDING OR EVENT?

We allow DJ's, Live musicians, Dance Crews…whatever entertainment your heart desires.  There are many locations to place musicians all around the event areas and can even accommodate large full stages and dance floors.  Due to the county noise ordinance, all loud music must end at 10:00pm.

CAN I HIRE ANY VENDORS I WANT TO WORK WITH?

YES!  They and their plans on what is being done on the property must be approved by our venue manager prior to working your event/wedding.  We do have recommendations for all vendors for your convenience.

WHAT ARE MY CATERING OPTIONS?

San Diego is your oyster! We have a preferred catering list you can choose from. They are vendors we have worked with in the past that have been the best with communication, service, etc. and know all of our policies. There are food truck options on our list as well that you may choose from. You may bring your caterer once they go through our approval process.

DOES ALVAREZ VINEYARDS HAVE RENTALS?

We do NOT have rentals currently and any we are happy to refer someone to you!

WHAT TYPE OF BAR AM I ALLOWED TO HAVE?

You can have whatever type of bar you want as there are many fun and creative bar options available to be booked.

CAN MY GUESTS SERVE THEMSELVES?

Yes, alcohol can be served by the guests themselves if over 21. We highly recommend hiring a bartender and are happy to refer someone to you!

CAN MY WEDDING GO PAST 10:00PM?

Due to the county noise ordinance, all loud noises must end at 10:00pm.

AM I REQUIRED TO OBTAIN LIABILITY INSURANCE?

Yes - We email a link to you where all you have to input is your wedding date and guest count to receive a cost. It is very easy, affordable, and ensures everyone is covered.

DOES ALVAREZ VINEYARDS HAVE A BACK-UP PLAN FOR RAIN?

It is not included in your venue fee, but we will provide rental companies for you to rent a tent from. We can also provide the information regarding sizes and quantities of tents you will need.

ANY HOTELS IN THE AREA TO STAY?

Yes, there are 2 great resort casinos only 7 miles from Alvarez Farm & Vineyard.  Harrah’s Resort & Casino, www.harrahssocal.com , and Valley View Resort & Casino, www.valleyviewcasino.com. We have great relationships with both and can help facilitate discounted stays and FREE shuttle services to and from our properties.

ARE CANDLES, SPARKLERS, OR OPEN FLAMES ALLOWED?

Candles, sparklers, and open flames of any kind are not permitted as they pose a fire hazard in a high-risk fire area.

WHAT KIND OF GRAPES ARE GROWN AT THE VINEYARD?

WHEN WILL THE GLAMPING RESORT BE COMPLETED?

The Alvarez Family is extremely excited to unveil its new 5-Star Glamping Resort and Spa. We Anticipate to have its Grand Opening during Q4 2021. The Resort will have 10 Private Geodesic Dome Villas with all the amenities of a high end hotel, a World-Class Spa & Gym Retreat, and a Restaurant/Lounge that will host private wine pairing 6-Course meals with our Chef.

WHEN CAN I BUY YOUR WINE?

The Alvarez Family recently purchased the vineyard late 2020 and its new harvest will take place Q4 2021. The white wine varieties will be ready 6 months after harvest and the reds will be ready 18 months after harvest.

DOES THE EVENT AREA HAVE POWER AND WATER?

The event area has dedicated sub-panels for the main event pad, performance stage area, and RV parking locations. The Vineyard has 5 artesian wells that are conveniently located across the estate. The event area has its own dedicated well. All RV parking locations also have water lines.

HOW MANY GUESTS CAN THE EVENT AREA COMFORTABLY HOST?

The event area can host up to 500 guests with mixed standing and seating. The layout of the event area is typically customized to the client. 

IS THE PARKING ON-SITE?

The event area has parking to accommodate upwards of 250 vehicles onsite. Valet service can be quoted for any events. 

ARE THERE BATHROOMS AT THE EVENT AREA?

Yes, we provide two movable bathrooms for our clients. Additional Luxury AC bathrooms are available for a fee.

WHAT IS THE SUGGESTED SHOE STYLE FOR THE EVENT AREA TERRIAN?

Although flat, the ground is compact granite. Our guests are encouraged to wear flat shoes or wedges to be more forgiving with the terrain. 

CAN I LAND A HELICOPTER ON THE PROPERTY?

Yes, we are zoned for helicopters to land and the helicopter pad is on the north end of the property.
